剧情介绍
This work is a piece of audiovisual poetry, a compositional work consisting of images and sound. It is constructed with 2-channel video and 4-channel sound in four parts (part 1: empty city; part 2: day of the city; part 3: still/silent; part 4: A.I.).
“still/silent” is a series. It has been staged as a sound performance and performative AV installation at various locations since October 2007, as well within the scope of the exhibitions “RE-IMAGINING ASIA” and “Peace-Utopia or Real Space” in Berlin, and “Luso-Phonia and Et Sona Poblenou?“ in Barcelona in 2008.
The video and sound focus on different tempi, rhythms and cityscapes. A range of video and sound material was recorded on camera tours through different cities and is used to create a new vision. With the video and sound collages that have evolved from this material, an expressive form is developed—one that is situated between the boundaries of tangible and abstract expression. A sensation of time and space are created with the 2-channel video and 4-channel sound. The sound/tone meets with the images, intertwining with them before detaching again to independently evolve. The correlation takes shape in the eye/ear of the beholder/listener, resulting in an ongoing dialog.
“still/silent” does not deal primarily with the subject of peace; instead, it uses peace as a subtle leitmotif which, as a piece of audiovisual poetry, is divided into four parts. On musical and visual levels, it is portrayed as a beneficial state of tranquillity and calmness, as the absence of noise and turmoil.
The four parts of the sound performance are part of the “still/silent” audiovisual installation. The newly recorded sound material from the respective cities and locations is integrated in the sound performance. Together with the sampler, instrument or grand piano and live electronics, the sound performance is based on melodious, musical interactions. It will be simultaneously recorded and these recordings will later be presented as a sound installation together with the entire “still/silent” audiovisual installation.
