Ovation for Oscar

Focusing on the first posthumous museum tribute to legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, the documentary chronicles the creation of the exhibition, "Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style," as it was prepared exclusively for the SCAD Museum of Art by SCAD trustee André Leon Talley. The filmmakers also documented the making of the highly anticipated, soon-to-be-released Rizzoli book, "Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style," written by Talley and photographed in conjunction with the exhibition. This intimate look behind the scenes reveals the nuances and sophistication of the demanding, deadline-oriented work of fashion photographers, white-gloved art handlers and discerning curators as they research, assess, mount and produce a major museum exhibition honoring the late designer, artist and cultural icon.
