Gigi, a rebel, teaches young guerillas the many facets of their Marxist struggle as they wait in the forest, either for ambush or action. In the nearby village, Junjun and his fellow soldiers take a rest, where they encounter a balyan – a shaman – and her bizarre prophecies. At the same time, two children, Abyan and Busaw, journey through the forest in an attempt to get back to their mother. Spoken entirely in Mindanao Bisaya, the film is a revealing look at a little-known culture in the midst of massive change.
