In a small religious town in Iran, a religious father, who believes he has killed his only son, Ali, 15, goes to the saint mausoleum to confess his crime. After a row with his father, Ali runs away to the desert where he first hears music. It's a shepherd who is playing Nêy. His life will completely change from that moment onwards. In Teheran, he meets Azar, a pretty 19 year old girl, whose father is writing a book on angels...
Mamad Haghighat was born in Isfahan (Iran). He directed a few short films from 1969 and 1975. In 1971, he founded an Iranien film festival in Paris and wrote a book "Histoire de Cinéma Iranien" published by the Centre Pompidou. He is a critic and correspondant for the iranien revue Film. He is the director of the Cinema Quartier Latin and directed Etat de Crisein 1984 while writing his thesis at the end of his studies. Deux Anges is his first feature film.
