在2018年NT剧目计划中，由Royal National Theatre剧院制作，罗里·金奈尔和安-玛莉·杜芙（Anne-Marie Duff）主演、鲁弗斯·诺里斯执导的《麦克白》刚刚率先定档NT Live并释出海报，直播就在2018年5月10日。
Shakespeare’s most intense and terrifying tragedy, directed by Rufus Norris (The Threepenny Opera, London Road), will see Rory Kinnear (Young Marx, Othello) and Anne-Marie Duff (Oil, Suffragette) return to the National Theatre to play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
The ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

改編很好。不負最黑暗莎劇之名。 架空背景的虛無之感作底，反烏托邦的絕望氣息無孔不入包裹著每一位演員，恰到好處的血腥元素，放眼望盡是墮落癲狂。 舞台設計簡直可以放在美術館里展覽，橋、斜坡、三維空間、分割旋轉舞台、燈光煙霧的運用，極簡、提煉、粗礪、宏大的美學風格，所謂「詩意的建築」。 Rory Kinnear和Anne-Marie Duff演技炸裂，Macbeth的形象不是很符合我的想像，而Anne-Marie Duff創造了一個氣場十足的Lady Macbeth。最驚艷的還是三個女巫的處理，聲音表情肢體無不到位，環繞立體音效即刻上頭，瘋癲邪魅怪力亂神之氣盡現。 壓抑世界，權力旋渦，掙扎與脆弱，譴責與償還，命運與慾望互為因果，一步步陷入無底的流沙中。

只能算中规中矩，所谓现代背景并没有加分。女巫戏的阴森倒是让人眼前一亮。

今年有RSC版和NT live版。RSC版票居然售罄于是看了NT live版。现代元素如透明胶带，渔网袜妹子，party真的很让人出戏。感觉全场太过沉闷压抑，歇斯底里的对白太多。同样是NT live出品的悲剧科利奥兰纳斯感觉好看很多（抖森2014版）
