Located in the city of Faridabad, India, Jan Parivartan Sanstha Pragyam School is neither a public school since it does not receive government funding nor a private one since it does not charge any fees from its students. In addition to its quasi-public status, it is also a hub of many socio-economic complexities, from racial and gender tensions between students to the principal’s economic struggles to make ends meet. This documentary production sets out to capture the various stakeholders of the school community – their intentions and obstacles and by extension, to provide us with a microcosmic glimpse of the complex dynamics that afflict the greater Indian society.
