《解密紫禁城》通过传统工艺和现代科技的力量，打造大型故宫局部模型，通过实验直观展现中国古代皇家建筑经久不衰的神话，揭露故宫这一世界最大古建筑群背后蕴藏的传统工艺及建材结构的奥秘，带领世界观众以全新视角领略紫禁城的文化精髓和别样风采。
In this special-access documentary ‘Secrets of the Forbidden City’, we go behind closed doors to reveal the secrets of the Forbidden City’s epic design and construction and explore the historic context of how and why it was built. As a fascinating spine to the film, we also use key traditional techniques to build a large scale model of typical Forbidden City architecture, and test it to destruction to explore its design secrets, to reveal the design ingenuity and technical genius, furthermore, culture essence and splendor of the Forbidden City from a new perspective.

紫禁城的建成凝结了中国的传统智慧，代表了明朝最高的建筑工艺和艺术造诣，永乐大典及永乐年间的文艺复兴证明了朱棣在文化及艺术领域的远见，但这座巍峨壮丽的紫禁城背后所付诸的人力物力，以及牺牲的众多人民，更值得敬畏。朱棣虽堪称为勤勉的君王，也有暴虐、极尽豪奢的一面。

摄制组很有实验精神，又是冰面运输汉白玉，又是木建筑抗震测试，各种场景复原的效果也做得用心。故宫的修建如同金字塔，既反映了高度极权的统治力量，也凝结了人类的智慧。但片子请的中方专家知名度和重量级不够啊，外国的专家又是什么背景也没有简要介绍。

朱棣迁都到北京开始建造紫禁城，后经清代进行改造，呈现出今天的故宫，惊叹古人的智慧，斗拱的应用让紫禁城在活跃地震带上屹立不倒～期待600年生日时的紫禁城～
