LO STATO DELLE ANIME

Abinei’s changelessness, a small fossilized town surrounded by an aura of timelessness so much so that even the number of inhabitants is consistent: always the same, fixed over time by a higher order. Therefore the number of births even seems to compensate a succession of crimes that are tragically sophisticated in both method and symbology, crimes which the taxidermist, Efisio Marini (Cagliari, 1835-1900) finds himself investigating. The tormented positive spirit of the melodramatic Marini eventually infects his fellow companions: Dehonis, an old university friend and Pescetto, a military captain. Facts and things are crowded together in a fertile disorder in which a story comes into being that gradually shakes the characters up psychologically. Marini connects the facts and the things and the circle is closed and moves towards another type of order, that of an exciting and potent thriller.
